A Digital Champion Announced in the Burnett Inland
The recent Launch of ‘The Platform, a Burnett Inland Business and Community Hub’, officiated by Damien Martoo of ‘The Martoo Review’, provided the perfect occasion for an announcement involving our guest host. Damien has been officially named an Advance Queensland Community Digital Champion.
Several months ago, BIEDO seized the opportunity to nominate Damien for the Queensland Government’s Community Digital Champions program. This program aims to ‘encourage Queenslanders to explore and enjoy the benefits of the digital age through the stories and activities of inspirational Champions’ (Community Digital Champion Guidelines 2018). Damien is a well-known face in the South Burnett, promoting business and community via digital media. “We appreciate Damien’s enthusiastic approach to online platforms as a way to positively promote businesses, events and activities in the region. He is a great source of inspiration to others to also explore and embrace digital media”, BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm said. “We extend our congratulations to Damien on being officially named a Community Digital Champion through this program. It is fantastic to now have a Digital Champion based right here in the Burnett inland and Damien is the first one to our knowledge”, Mrs Frahm said.
Damien Martoo has previously co-presented a Social Media Session in collaboration with Sheena Lindholm (Push Pull Marketing), Kristy Board (Business South Burnett) and BIEDO as part of the South Burnett Business Builders Program in 2018, encouraging business and community members to utilise features of social media platforms.
BIEDO and Business South Burnett, in collaboration with the Bundaberg Business Enterprise Centre’s Entrepreneurship Facilitators Program, are hosting another Social Media Session with presenters Damien Martoo and Sheena Lindholm in Wondai on Monday 22 July 2019. Please see the BIEDO Facebook page for event details.
