Queensland Women in Business Awards
This month, the Women in Business Awards were held in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, providing an opportunity to share the success stories of women in business.
Established by Karen Phillips in 2013, the Women in Business Awards program has now expanded to five regions across Queensland with support from the Queensland Government.
The 2019 winner of the Innovation & Technology Award for the Greater Brisbane region was Nicole Gibson, Director and Founder of Söka Australia. Nicole believes reducing our water footprint is crucial for a sustainable future. Her invention, the Söka Tub, is a laundry soaking system that provides a solution to the water wasted during the standard laundry process.
Nicole is just one of many women recognised as part of this year’s awards. To find out more about the winners across other categories and regions, visit Women in Business Awards.
The final awards ceremony for 2019 will be held in Toowoomba for the Downs region on 7 November 2019. All 2019 winners will be recognised at a reception with Minister Shannon Fentiman MP and Minister Di Farmer MP at Parliament House in November.
