A free workshop designed to give small-medium business the skills and confidence to grow will be held in Kingaroy on 5 June 2019.
The workshop will enable small business to compete more effectively in retail, food service and online channels. It also will enable participants to assess other commercially based channels that may be attractive as part of a growth strategy.
John Day and Peter Huskins (ShopAbility), will present the workshop, discussing:
Developing a strategic planning framework
Challenge or complement your current thinking about growth opportunities
Understand how to manage your profitability
Identify opportunities using a market assessment process
Identify and communicate ‘what you are famous for’
Positioning your business for growth
Actions to create new growth platforms
“This is a great opportunity for small business across the South Burnett region who might be at a crossroads about how to grow their business,” said Mayor Keith Campbell.
“Don’t wait for your competitors to grow, learn new skills and apply them in your business to improve your own productivity and maximise growth potential,” he added.
The Market Diversification Workshop is supported by the Entrepreneurs Program, an Australian Government flagship initiative for business competitiveness and productivity. It forms part of the Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda and use experienced advisors and facilitators drawn from industry.
The workshop will be held in the 1913 Building (behind Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre) from 8:15am – 1pm. Workshop organisers are using www.eventbrite.com.au (search market diversification registration) for registrations and details can be found online at South Burnett Localised (www.widebayburnett.localised.com.au/southburnett).
