Fixed wireless and satellite customers invited to trial new services

nbn is looking for eligible users to participate in the Australian Government’s Alternative Voice Services Trials Program. The purpose of the trial is to test alternative technologies to provide voice services via participating service providers to Australians in regional and remote areas.

Trial participants will receive:

  • a voice service from a participating service provider for up to 12 months at no extra charge;
  • An up to $400 financial incentive;
  • A telephone handset; and
  • other telephone monitoring equipment and a battery backup providing 4 hours of power supply when your regular power source fails

As part of the trial, participants may be surveyed to understand into their experience and satisfaction with the voice services. Insights collected from the trial may inform potential infrastructure developments within regional and rural communities.

Trial voice services will be in addition to the existing phone and internet services at a participant premises and customers will need to maintain their existing phone service for the duration of the trial.
