How is your business travelling?

Economic Development and Tourism in South Burnett region - South Burnett Regional Council/South Burnett Directions

Traditionally post Easter, with the change in season, we would expect to see a change in business across the South Burnett. In 2020, the change is vastly different from previous years. In the past six weeks, business and social restrictions have heavily influenced decision making for business. Over the next 3 weeks, BEAP BEAP will outline some simple steps to assist in planning for the weeks/months ahead.

  • How are you going? Are you doing activities to look after your mental health and general wellbeing? Mental health management tips for small business
  • Speak with your accountant and/or bank – understand your financial position and the change that has occurred over the past six weeks.
  • Speak with your suppliers. Do you source product from countries that are in lockdown? Are there any constraints in your local supply chain – transport, wholesalers, continuity of supply, price changes? You can report supply constraints and price changes to Council’s Economic Development Office.

To further assist your planning, why not document your actions from the past six weeks.  This could easily form the first phase of your recovery plan and means you don’t start with a blank page.  Over the next 2 weeks further questions will be raised to assist in developing actions for the next 10-12 weeks and further (20-24 weeks). For further support, consider using some of the tools at Business QLD or My Business Health.

Sharing your story as you navigate through COVID-19 is also a great way to keep customers, suppliers and business network engaged with your business and other activity.

Working with you to keep the wheels turning.
