The road map is released and now it’s over to you

Economic Development and Tourism in South Burnett region - South Burnett Regional Council/South Burnett Directions

Over the past few weeks, I have been in more online video meetings and chats than ever before.  There are numerous opportunities for business owners to get involved in online conferencing from Arts Hour to KCCI Meet & Greet.  This week I attended Breaky with BIEDO online and listened intently as Leanne Kemp, the Chief Entrepreneur for Queensland, provided some insight to her perspective on economic recovery.

Apart from talking about Systems Leadership, stakeholders over shareholders and your value chain, Leanne spoke about the third dimensionality of recovery.

Leanne , wrote in her article, It’s time to talk about recovery, “Make no mistake, it is tough times out there. Hope is not enough to weather this. It will require a willingness to unlearn, a consciousness to invent and a commitment to trim the fat and keep the muscle.”

Outside of being an inspiring discussion, Breaky with BIEDO highlighted the variety of businesses in the South Burnett who are already shifting their focus to life beyond Coronavirus COVID-19.  As we commence the journey forward, spend locally and support our local economy – it will be these businesses that will ensure jobs in the region are retained and growth and new jobs are created.

Thanks to BIEDO for their support of local groups. Their Zoom subscription has been well used in 2020 enabling groups to meet online when face-to-face meetings are not possible.

Take some time out from the screens – enjoy the outdoors.
