Innovation is about executing new ideas of value. It is not just about new products and

services but also new ways of doing business, including tapping into technology.

Masterclass Details

This workshop draws upon research and examples from small businesses and introduces

practical tools and techniques you can use to take your idea to commercial reality.

Content includes:

  • How to evaluate and shortlist new ideas
  • A strategic approach – the Innovation Pyramid.
  • Commercialisation pathways – from DIY to partnering, skills needed.
  • Understanding the market and identifying target segments.
  • How to test or pilot your idea, including Lean Startup Principles.
  • Implementation – making time, making things happen, understanding and accelerating adoption.

Course commences on 18 November 2020. All masterclass sessions will take place in person at The Generator Gympie, Floor Level, 232 Mary Street, Gympie, 4570.

About Colin Graham

Colin is the founder of Causeway Innovation and was previously the founding CEO of the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast. He has worked with over 300 startups, small and mid-sized firms and large

corporates with a focus on business development through innovation. Colin is also Course Facilitator for the New Venture Planning course in the Executive MBA program at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Colin’s business career started in London where he became International Product Manager for Dulux before moving on to be the co-founder and CEO of Yellowbrick Training & Development with SME and worked with corporate clients including IBM, Unilever and Deloitte in the UK, Canada and USA. In recent years, Colin has worked with owner managers of small and mid-sized businesses across regional Australia in a wide range of sectors including food and agribusiness, tourism, health and wellbeing, ICT, environment, creative and professional services.
